DASISH Survey of Data Deposit Services for the Social Sciences and Humanities

In this task, several data deposit services were analysed and compared using previously developed guidelines. The test group included services offered by recognized European institutions, as well as several commercial service providers.

In the analysis process, most attention has been paid to the basic trustworthy guarantees provided by the deposit services with regard to long-term preservation, adherence to commonly used policies and codes of conduct, and the ability to provide access to the data when needed, for authorised users.

The results include best practices and guidelines for key activities in data preservation in the SSH domain and are described in the “Report about Preservation Offers”.
